Well, this is my first entry on this blog. As this new year is barely beginning, I made a promise to myself: to start my own blog about books, films, TV series and a lot of things I like.
I received a copy of The Time Keeper, written by Mitch Albom, as a late Christmas gift. And I decided to read it just hours before this year started. I think that I read it in the right ideal time.

PLOT
In this fable, the first man on earth to count the hours becomes Father Time. The inventor of the world's first clock is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He is banished to a cave for centuries and forced to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years. Eventually, with his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted his freedom, along with a magical hourglass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.
He returns to our world--now dominated by the hour-counting he so innocently began--and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one a teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever. To save himself, he must save them both. And stop the world to do so.
REVIEW
Written in a clear, easy-to-understand American English, I read this book in an hour. Although it is a novel, it is divided in many parts, each one focusing on one of the three main characters: Dor, a neolithic man, Sarah, a 21st. century typical teenager, and Victor, an old businessman.
Short chapters compose this book, and it is ideal for those who are starting to read in English (I prefer to read books in their original language).
It teaches us that time is just an illusion created by humans, and that we are too concerned about time, to stop and really live life as it should be lived.
I give it an A-, just because the end lacked some depth.
